Daniel Castan has traveled extensively in New York and Hong Kong. This has left him with a fascination for urban worlds and their outsized perspectives. In his paintings, he recreates these highly graphic atmospheres. The lines of buildings disappear into the sky, wide avenues seem endless, colors clash. The knife is the artist's preferred tool. It enables her to work in paste, in broad strokes and to draw in the material.
