Adec

Born in 1985

A little bit acrobat, a little bit nomad, a little bit puppet... With their dancing forms, the characters of street-artist Adec appear like cobbled-together puppets, drawn with a skilful sense of graphic design. They travel from one world to another, in playlets full of life and rhythm, in a funny urban theater.

The artist paints a gallery of characters, playing music, moving among fish or walking birds, inviting you to follow them into a world of bric-a-brac, joyfully precarious.

Originally from Paris, Adec trained in Brussels and now lives in the Cévennes Piedmont, near Anduze. Inspired by the human being, he has made this a recurring theme in his work.

Here are a few of his latest creations, paintings on the theme of music, "eaux de vies" or "Natures Habitées", a theme that Adec is particularly keen to explore on the wall. It's a work on identity, an invitation to debate and exchange that he proposes by confronting an animal or plant inhabited by a multitude of small characters. Inverting the scales of representation, the project questions the place, role and value of each individual.
