German, born in 1965
Christof Kindlinger explores the intensity and vibrancy of colors through abstract painting full of energy and movement. Inspired by fleeting impressions of the world around him—the delicacy of a flower, the play of light on a surface—he transforms these moments into powerful and expressive pictorial compositions.
His work always begins with a solid drawing that structures his pieces, before giving free rein to bold and dynamic gestures. Contours become gestural structures, and color, deployed in layers and superimpositions, creates a unique emotional depth. Each painting is the result of a dialogue between control and freedom, reflection and intuition, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in a universe where form, movement, and color interact.
Christof Kindlinger has been teaching art since 1996 and continues his creative practice in his studio in Aubing, near Munich. His approach, both patient and thoughtful, embodies what he calls "slow painting": an art of contemplation and intensity, where each color and each gesture finds its place in a living and vibrant harmony.
