Tagueur du temps et de son temps, Skoda One est obsédé par l’instant T, indéfinissable, impalpable et infiniment sécable.

 

La démarche de son travail consiste à matérialiser l’immatérialité, donner à voir l’invisible. Il cherche à conceptualiser et cadrer ce temps qui file à toute allure sans jamais s’arrêter.

 

Pour cela, Skoda One a mené de multiples explorations créatives dans, entre autres, le design et la photographie. Le travail sur cette dernière, capable "de capturer du temps”, a largement influencé son activité artistique actuelle. 

 

Ses œuvres se caractérisent par une tendance à la géométrie, à la répétition, avec une rigueur et un minimalisme frôlant l’ascétisme. On observe une propreté presque chirurgicale dans son travail: “On a toujours besoin de ranger son chez-soi pour ranger sa tête. Pour moi, durant la création il y a toujours un moment de plénitude. Tous les dessins que je fais sont classés et répertoriés. J'horodate tous mes dessins, ça les contextualise. L’horodatage est aussi un travail sur le temps.”

En effet, au bas de chacune de ses œuvres, une série de chiffres se réfère à la durée de création passée.

 

Le travail de Skoda One montre ainsi une constante recherche de dynamique entre un concept global et une forme qui y répond.

Artiste conceptuel, c’est dans le graffiti parisien des années 90 qu’il trouve son inspiration et son support d’expression. D’innombrables petits motifs généralement composés des lettres de son blaze recouvrent l'ensemble de la composition, le tout créant une structure itérative et dense. 

Ses œuvres ont un caractère méditatif, elles permettent même à l'artiste d'atteindre lors du processus de création une sorte de catharsis.

Ainsi, un effort répétitif aux airs de punition devient une voie d'accès au plaisir pour le créateur d'abord et le spectateur ensuite.

A tagger of time and of his time, Skoda One is obsessed by the indefinable, intangible and infinitely divisible present moment.

 

The approach of his work consists in materializing the immateriality of time, to show the invisible. He seeks to conceptualise and frame this time that flies without ever stopping.

 

To achieve this, Skoda One has carried out multiple creative explorations in, among others, design and photography. The photography, capable of “capturing time", has largely influenced his current artistic activity.

 

His artworks are characterised by a tendency towards geometry and repetition, with a rigour and minimalism bordering on asceticism. There is an almost surgical cleanliness in his work: "You always have to tidy up your home to tidy up your mind. During the creation there is always a moment of plenitude. All the drawings I make are filed and reviewed. I timestamp all my drawings, it contextualizes them. Timestamping is a work on time."

Indeed, at the bottom of each of his artworks, a series of numbers refers to the time of past creation.

 

Skoda One's artwork thus shows a constant search for a dynamic between a global concept and a shape that responds to it.

As a conceptual artist, he finds his inspiration and medium of expression in the Parisian graffiti of the 1990s. Countless small motifs, usually composed of the letters of his name, cover the entire composition, creating a dense, iterative structure.

His artworks have a meditative character, they even allow the artist to reach a kind of catharsis during the creation process.

Thus, a repetitive effort becomes a path to pleasure for the creator first and the viewer second.
